I’ve been working on this book on and off for a couple of years. I started writing short stories at a very young age; in fact, my first novel, Beneath the Mimosa Tree, began as a short story. I love reading short stories, and first fell in love with them in high school in literature classes, and then later in college when I read Rosamunde Pilcher’s collection entitled The Blue Bedroom. The Postcard is a short story I wrote several years ago now, but I’m working on pulling a collection of my best short stories together. I hope to have this out by summer 2018.
Running Inn is the second book in the series I started last year. The first book is entitled Inn Significant; this will be the second. I have not yet determined whether or not there will be third. I’m guessing that will depend on how I do with writing my first sequel. I know I want the cover to be a bit different than the first book—mainly I thought I’d like to use an actual picture. It will continue the story of Milly, John, Miles, Milly’s parents and sister, and the collection of folks—in addition to new characters—that will become the fabric of Inn Significant and the town of Oxford, Maryland on the Eastern Shore.
