Week One Recap: FROCKTOBER 2018

WELCOME TO FROCKTOBER FOR OVARIAN CANCER

This month is all about fashion–but it’s also to raise money and heighten awareness of Ovarian Cancer. As my beloved colleague and friend, Chris Noya, fights her battle, I will do my part to make this month meaningful. I’m looking forward to the challenge of posting 31 outfits in honor of Chris and women everywhere who are battling this disease.

My love to you all as you bravely carry on. We are with you. ❤️

FROCKTOBER | Day 1

Today’s #ootd is a dress from @boden_clothing, shoes by @stevemadden, and bag by @laurenconrad. Necklaces from @forever21. Visit my initial FROCKTOBER post to see how you can donate.

FROCKTOBER | Day 2

“Your best will never be good enough to the ones constantly searching for your flaws. But for you to be the best, you need to ignore your flaws and do your best.” – Gift Gugu Mona
.
Thanks for following along with me. I love inspirational quotes, and thought I’d partner them with fashion. I also am an average girl who wears all brands – it’s all about the cut, really. Today’s #ootd is a dress by PopSugar : hat and booties by Apt.9. Happy fall, y’all!

FROCKTOBER | Day 3
“Over the years I have learned that what is important in a dress is the woman who is wearing it.” – Yves Saint Laurent 👗
.
Even though my twenties are long gone, I still like to wear cute, trendy stuff, and Forever 21 offers pieces that can work. The dress is from Forever 21, shoes by Vince Camuto, bag by Nine West.

FROCKTOBER | Day 3 – no. 2
“Sunset is still my favorite color, and rainbow is second.” – Mattie Stepanek 👗
.
I love Annapolis and all it has to offer. I grew up here and have raised my kids here for the past five years. My first novel is set in Annapolis–and in the neighborhood here called Pendennis Mount. Sunset and rainbow are definitely two of my favorite colors. Today’s #ootd: Hearts dress by PopSugar, shoes by Sam & Libby.

This morning’s #ootd for this grey weather called for a little black clothing, a top with a bow from @whbm, and for the first time this season, some tall black boots. Jacket from @loft.

FROCKTOBER | Day 5
“About all you can do in life is be who you are. Some people will love you for you. Most will love you for what you can do for them, and some won’t like you at all.” – Rita Mae Brown

It’s already Fall Break time on campus starting Friday afternoon! Woo-hoo! Happy Friday! I’m looking forward to visiting my son on his campus in PA this weekend.

.
Today’s #ootd dress from Ann Taylor Loft, shoes by Franco Sarto, and briefcase from Lulu’s. The necklace is Italian-made and was a gift from Georgia Angelos of the Orioles. She was always so generous and kind to me when I worked there and still is today. Building meaningful relationships through your work and jobs is vitally important in business.

FROCKTOBER | Day 6

“Joy comes to us in ordinary moments. We risk missing out when we chase down the extraordinary.”

– Brene Brown

.

One of the things I’ve penciled into my weekend routine is to leave an some time for writing. I am quite happy and content when I get to sit and create. It gives me joy. Ordinary moments certainly can be extraordinary, even if you just take a breather to sip some tea and watch the squirrels play in the backyard.

Today’s #ootd: Boots from @DSW, sweater from @juicycouture, jeans from @michaelkors

FROCKTOBER | Day 7

“This is Sunday, and the question arises, what’ll I start tomorrow?” – Kurt Vonnegut

Sundays in the fall have always been my favorite. I love thinking about what’s coming up in the week, what to make for the week’s dinners, and what I’ll accomplish this week with regard to my new manuscript. Today, however, I’m thinking about seeing my son at college. We are on our way for an afternoon visit and I can’t wait to give him a big hug. It’s been six weeks since we’ve seen him, and the time has flown. My daughter has enjoyed being Queen of the Castle in his absence, but I know she secretly wants to give him a big hug as well. Sundays are a day to spend with family. I’ve always thought about it this way. In our busy weeks, it’s a day to just sit around and be with each other. I hope your Sunday is a good one and you get to spend it with those you love.

Today’s #ootd: jeans, WHBM, shirt LOFT, over-the-knee boots from DSW, long sweater Cable & Gauge.

See you next Sunday for WEEK 2 of FROCKTOBER.

Thank you to those of you who have contributed to Ovarian Cancer Awareness— it’s a very worthy cause.

And…

Thanks for following along on my 31 days of fashion for FROCKTOBER. 😘
